Rochester City Council voted to remove police from RCSD schools for 2020-21 school year.
Albuquerque’s Mayor announced formation of a new public safety department to replace some functions of city’s police. Instead of the police or fire departments responding to 911 calls related to inebriation, homelessness, addiction and mental health, Albuquerque Community Safety will deploy unarmed personnel made up of social workers, housing and homelessness specialists, and violence prevention coordinators.
